Table Grapes

Monday, May 18, 2020 by Christopher Matthias

Some of us will have table grapes at the end of the world.
Others of us will have the swollen, bloated belly of starvation.
Some of will perfect our braised meats.
Others will contemplate the choice toward highest caloric intake because hunger consumes the intellect before it eats the body.
Some of us will plot our vacations for whenever this goddamn thing ends.
Others will decide between keeping a cat and paying rent.
At the end of the world, we’ll have thought we had more time to balance the scales.
We’ll always arrive at the end of the world thinking we had more time.

We had all the time.
